Minnesota reports 578 new COVID-19 cases and 8 deaths

The coronavirus.

More than 43,700 Minnesotans have tested positive for COVID-19 and 1,518 have died, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

The figures reported Wednesday include 578 new cases and eight deaths.

Approximately 790,497 tests have been completed. As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, 254 Minnesotans were hospitalized with COVID-19, 106 of them in intensive care units.

Of the 43,742 people who have tested positive, 38,179 no longer need to be isolated.
